This little collection of entertaining and informative web sites is offered to you on the condition that you don't blame me for any time you spend browsing the internet when you should be doing something more important. Deal? OK, read on ...
Guitar links
- OLGA: The On Line Guitar Archive - This is the place to go to find guitar tablature on the net. Thousands of files covering almost every artist/band. The transcriptions may not all be 100% accurate, but what do you expect for free?
- Harmony Central - a comprehensive site with all kinds of guitar related information. Tabs, lessons, reviews, links - they're all here.
- GuitarNoise - another useful site with guitar and bass lessons, interviews, and a good collection of links to many guitar resources (including artist-specific tab sites).
- Earplane - a very useful site that allows you to test your musical listening abilities. Lots of exercises on-line for deleoping your ability to recognise chords, intervals, rhythms etc.
Joni Mitchell links
- The Joni Mitchell Home Page - A fine web site for a fine musician. This site now has all the content from the old jmdl site, including loads of interesting articles, pictures, art work as well as guitar and piano tablature for many of Joni's songs.
Miscellaneous
- Pythonline: The Official Monty Python Page: Quite silly, but good fun if you're into all things python. Watch out for the spam.
- Moose Mansions A great site this, full of useless factoids, strange humour and containing such gems Why Not Kill... (previously known as: People Who Should Be Shot Twice In The Back Of The Head) and Satanist Thought For The Day
- Comedy on BBC Radio 4: Over the years, a lot of of innovative comedy (The Day Today, Have I Got News For You, not to mention classics like The Goon Show) has sprouted in the green fields of Radio 4. There's also a load of tedious and unfunny stuff there too, so you have to choose carefully! Take a look here for more info.
